Boiling Shadows

Boiled Shadows is a game made entirely over the course of 5 days for the 2021 Hot Jam and the theme was boiling point. The game centers around the player character entering an abandoned town that has been overrun by eldritch monsters. 

The player must purify all three holy sites in the town, located in the caves that border the town limits. Every site takes a physical and mental toll on the player, designed to evoke the feeling of the player’s mental state boiling over. 

Once they purify all three sites they are greeted with a surprise, as the shadows infecting the town now reside in the player. The player throws themselves into the sea to save the town at the cost of their own life as a human.
